In spite of ceramic coating’s advantages, it isn't assured at shielding every scratch on your vehicle and it comes at a high cost.

Here are 4 reasons why ceramic coating is bad for your vehicle.

 1. Can Be expensive and take a lot of time.

2. If you don't care about your car and it’s just to take you from point a to b

3. If you don't have time or money to get it hand washed

4. Not Going to keep vehicle for longer than 3 years.

 1. Can Be expensive and take a lot of time.

When getting a ceramic coat for your vehicle, it is best that you know the possible disadvantages of the coating process before purchasing. To start off, a professional has to apply the coating for you and the prices range from about $400 to over $3,000, although the prices may vary and go higher if you desire to add additional surfaces coated and even re-painting services. Not only are the prices high, but the process is not one that is short. Typically, the application takes up to three days, which is longer than other film types. The overall preparation phases take about two days to finish and the coating takes a few hours to apply. The process that creates the job tedious is the drying time. To further explain, ceramic coating needs to properly cure for up to one day and it is encouraged that you should not drive your vehicle for up to 24 hours after applying the coat.

2. If you don't care about your car and it’s just to take you from point a to b

An additional reason as to why you should not get ceramic coating is if you don’t care as much about your car and only have it to get you from point a to point b. To elaborate, ceramic coating isn’t worth attaining if you just have it to drive. The prices and process may be too stressful for one who does not mind not having coating. Although, if you do want to get tint at a cheap price and easy process, then it is best to not get ceramic and get the basic dyed window tint instead.

3. If you don't have time or money to get it hand washed

Along with the long process and high price of coating, a vehicle with ceramic coating has a different washing procedure. For instance, the technique that is highly recommended is gently hand washing and drying with a gentle car wash soap. When finding the correct soap for your car wash, it is important to avoid shampoos that contain sealants and/or waxes. If you wash your ceramic coated vehicle incorrectly, then you may scratch or peel off the coating. To add on, if you want to further protect your vehicle by reducing possible scratches and peels, then washing your vehicle every two weeks will help. To sum up, the washing process after getting a ceramic coat may be quite stressful and complicated than washing other vehicles with different types of coatings.

4. Not Going to keep vehicle for longer than 3 years.

If you are not going to keep your vehicle for more than 3 years, then there really is no point of getting ceramic coating, or any tint in this case. The reason being is because the person purchasing your vehicle may not desire to keep on purchasing ceramic coats every so often after buying the car.
